Who can apply?
FVO helps people facing financial difficulties. To apply, you need to meet some basic requirements:
- Your annual income must not exceed SEK 235,200 (2025 figures).
- Your savings and other assets must not exceed SEK 58,800 (2025 figures).
- You must have applied for and received a decision on all other benefits you may be entitled to.
- You must not own a flat, house or other property.

We assess every application individually. This means that even if you meet the basic requirements, you’re not guaranteed to receive financial support.
How to apply
You can apply for financial support from FVO online or using a paper application form. We recommend applying online if you can. You’ll then receive an email confirmation and be notified when your application has been processed.
Our caseworkers will review your application and assess which foundations may be able to support you based on their purpose and your circumstances. If we need more information, we’ll contact you.
