Was your application rejected?
There are several reasons why an application may be rejected. Here you can read about the most common reasons and what you can do.
Common reasons for rejection
1. Missing attachments or information
If your application is incomplete, it may be difficult for us to assess it. For example, an attachment, a page from a document or other information we need may be missing.
Common problems with attachments
- Your Family Certificate is missing or incomplete.
- You’ve included a different type of population registration certificate instead of a Family Certificate.
- Your tax return is from the wrong year or has missing pages.
- Your annual bank statement is out of date.
- You’ve included a different bank document instead of your annual bank statement.
- You’ve submitted the same document several times, but another attachment is missing.
2. Your income is above the limit
To receive financial support, you need to be considered in financial need according to the income limits that FVO follows. If your household income is above the limit, your application may be rejected.
See an example
Robin applies for support to buy new glasses. Robin’s own income is below the limit, but Robin lives with a partner who also has an income. When their incomes are added together, the household income is above the limit. As a result, Robin’s application is rejected.
Not sure what applies to you? Read about our basic requirements before applying.
3. Some foundations have temporarily run out of funds
The financial support FVO provides comes from different foundations, and their funds are limited. Even if you meet the requirements, your application may be rejected if the foundations that could support you have temporarily run out of money.
See an example
Sam applies for some extra financial support. Sam meets the basic requirements and could receive support from several foundations. However, the foundations that match Sam’s situation have temporarily run out of funds. As a result, Sam’s application is rejected.
Alex has a similar financial situation to Sam but also lives with an illness. This means Alex may qualify for support from another foundation that still has money available. Alex may therefore receive financial support.
Can I apply again?
If your application was rejected, you can apply again at any time. The rule about waiting at least 13 months between applications only applies if you’ve previously received financial support from FVO.
Before applying again, it’s a good idea to check that all your information is up to date and that you’ve included the right attachments.

Where to find other support
